Guest lecture on Academic writing (Kapodestrian University, Dpt of History and Archaeology)

On 15th December, I gave a guest lecture on Academic writing to the MA students of Renaissance History of the Dpt of History and Archaeology (Kapodistreian University) in Athens for 2nd year in a row. In the 3-hour interactive lecture, the students were introduced to the main principles of academic writing as a distinct genre, its variations as well as restrictions. We defined ‘academic writing’, and discussed the steps/stages we follow when planning to write an academic essay, the various integral parts of the essay, the various skills we develop when we learn to use academic writing.

Many thanks to Dr Ianthi Assimakopoulou who invited me to give a guest lecture on Academic writing (EKPA – Dpt of History and Archaeology) for 2nd year in a row. One more guest lecture to follow in the new year.
